DVD
Informational DVDs, such as those used in training and sales support by many organisations, are a very popular business video product, allowing for high quality (HD) playback and also have storage capacities up to 35 times greater than CD-ROMs.
Your DVD can include features such as menus, chapter breaks, supplementary audio tracks, sub-titles, and moving menus. Your DVD can contain data on one or both sides and also has a "dual-level" feature available to increase the amount of information. Blu-ray is the next format becoming available, with over 10 times greater storage than DVDs and is now starting to be released by Hollywood in ever greater numbers.
Barking & Dagenham Council
Employing over 8000 staff, London Borough of Barking & Dagenham realised the need to improve their customer response capabilities, and decided to implement the way they dealt with first time customer enquiries. Based on this, all staff were trained to respond to a query in one single action.
As part of the campaign to promote this throughout the council, Virtual360 were asked to create a DVD which showed the three stage process of the 'Done in One' project - the academy, the activities in action, and the awards - the latter being recognition of staff achievement.
The video was so successful it was also put on the council's intranet.
Rugby Coach
The Newsletter Publishing Company saw the need to move away from the traditional print version of their Better Rugby Coaching Manual to an interactive DVD to bring the instructional manual to life.
For this project we filmed college students at a local school and had the Editor of Better Rugby Coaching running though his top coaching tips, drills, advice and guidance collected over more than 25 years of coaching and playing the game. The DVD is available for sale, along with single downloadable chapters.
The DVD has benefited those new to rugby coaching, those wanting to take coaching to a higher level and those in need of a refresher.
Maidstone Youth Forum
We were contacted by Maidstone Borough Council who wanted to promote the new Maidstone Youth Forum using the latest digital technology - and to involve the youth during the production, within a limited budget.
Working with the youth themselves, we created the finished DVD in three days from scratch.
"The DVD has been very useful; we've used it quite a lot in the recent youth forum elections and recruitment drives. The group really enjoyed making the DVD; it's such a good resource."
STEMNET
STEMNET encourages young people to develop a positive and engaged attitude towards science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in the hope that they will recognise the importance of these fields of interest to their everyday lives and continue either to study a STEM subject post-16 and/or consider a STEM-related career.
Virtual360 were asked to produce a set of videos for DVD and web aimed at promoting the work of 'STEM Ambassadors' who will visit schools and colleges to help and encourage young people, as well as providing an induction resource for new Ambassadors - launched at the House of Lords!
SSTL
Surrey Satellite Technology Limited who specialise in designing, building and launching small satellites quickly and cost-effectively appointed Virtual360 to create three satellite animation videos for use in presentations, displays, conferences and exhibitions as part of their worldwide marketing campaign.
Following the success of the first Profile video, we produced an Earth Imaging Constellation video explaining the latest applications of satellite technology. A Geostationary video highlighting the capabilities of SSTL is the third of the series created to show off all aspects of the company.
The videos are shown worldwide at various exhibitions including the Farnborough International Airshow.
